The adventure begins with a visit to San Pedro de Atacama, a unique and timeless village far from civilization. You will feel refreshed in the lake waters or hot springs and visit the Salar de Atacama watching "flamencos" (Pink Flamingos) in their natural habitat. You will also visit the “Valle de la Luna” (Valley of the Moon) with its spectacular rock formations.
We continue the journey to Easter Island, one of the planet’s true masterpieces. This island possesses a magical past and exquisite archaeology. Exploring Chile invites you to discover this unique island from a different perspective – far from the usual tourist trail. PROGRAM Day 01 YOUR HOME COUNTRY - SANTIAGO DEL CHILE Flight to Chile. (Flight not included in travel package price)
Day 02 WELCOME TO SANTIAGO Pick up from Santiago Airport. Transportation provided to the hotel. Leisure time. City tour of Santiago starts in the “Barrio” (quarter) El Golf, where you see examples of the city’s avant-garde architecture. After this you will visit the Barrio Cívico which contains the government buildings and the cultural center. From here you take a walk through the main streets of the city center towards the main square, “Plaza de Armas,” where you will be able to admire the splendor of the buildings that surround the square: The cathedral, Correos de Chile (Chile’s main post office), IIlustre Municipalidad de Santiago (Santiago’s Illustre Municipality Building), etc. The tour then takes you to the Barrio Bella Vista, famous for its lively night life. Return and overnight stay at the 3 star Rugendas Hotel or an alternative hotel of the same category.
Day 03 SANTIAGO - CALAMA - SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA Breakfast at the hotel and transportation to the Santiago Airport. Flight to the mining town of Calama. Pick up from the Loa Airport. You will meet the guide from the Alto Atacama Hotel and transport across the desert to San Pedro de Atacama. Check-in at the Alto Atacama Hotel. Half-day tour visiting the “Valle de la Luna” (Valley of the Moon) to see a magical sunset in the lunar landscape. Overnight stay at the hotel Casa Don Tomas. (B)

Day 04 SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA-LAGUNAS ALTIPLANICAS Early morning departure to Salar de Atacama, Chile’s largest salt flat where the air is extraordinarily dry that there is perfect visibility permitting the naked eye to easily see the other side of the salt flat at over 70 km away. Under the salt flats lies a lake, hidden by a thick, wrinkled layer of salt, which contains the largest reserve of lithium in the world. We then will climb to the salt water lagoons of Miscanti and Miniques (4200m), where you can see blue lagoons edged in white and yellow vegetation, and rocks with red and black hues with snow-capped mountains and a bright blue sky in the background. Day 05 SAN PEDRO- TATIO - PURITAMA - SAN PEDRO Early morning departure from the hotel to see the Tatio Geysers (4300m) which is most active at dawn. We will have breakfast and time to enjoy this amazing natural spectacle. We then will continue on to the “Puritama” to relax in the hot springs. Return to San Pedro leaving the afternoon free for your leisure. (B)
Day 06 SAN PEDRO- CALAMA - SANTIAGO Breakfast at the hotel. Morning free for your leisure. In the afternoon we will leave for the Lao Airport and return to Santiago where you will be picked up and transported to the Holiday Inn Santiago.
Day 07 SANTIAGO – EASTER ISLAND Breakfast at the hotel and fly from Santiago to Easter Island. At the Easter Island Airport you will be greeted by the Rapa Nui with flower garlands and transported to the Hotel Chez Joseph or similar. In the afternoon, you will be given a half-day tour visiting the Taha archaeological site. We will also visit the Ahu Akivi platform with 7 restored Moai. You will learn the legends of the first explorers to visit the island. Return to hotel. (B)

Day 08 EASTER ISLAND Group excursions throughout the day. First stop is the Haga Te’e Bay on the south of the island – where you will see your first “Ahu” – one of the enormous stone platforms built to support the Moai. The Vaihu Ahu is an unrestored platform. The tour continues towards the Ahu Akahanga Region where legend has it that the famous King Hotu Matua is buried at one side of the Ahu. The tour takes in several other important cultural sites on the Island – for example Rano Raraku – where 900 statues have been sculpted – 397 of them lying horizontally on the ground. We will also visit the Tongariki Ahu, restored in 1995, a platform that holds 15 Moai. We then visit the “Ombligo del Mundo" (Belly button of the world), and the Te Pito Kura Ahu. Our final stop for the day is Anakena Beach and its two restored platforms, Ahu Nau Nau and Ahu Ature Huki. From this magical spot we can admire the waters of the Pacific Ocean and rest for a while in the shade of the palm trees. Return to the hotel. (B, BL)
Day 09 HANGA ROA - VULCANO RANO KAU - ORONGO Breakfast at the hotel. Group half-day tour. The tour takes you up to Rano Kau, a dormant volcano from where you can enjoy the panorama of the whole island: its coasts, its volcanoes and the village of Hanga Roa. You can also admire the volcano’s crater, with its lagoon. Then you will make our way back to the hotel, stopping off at the traditional ceremonial village of Orongo, where in the past they used to host the Tangata Manu (Bird Man) ceremony. Next, you will visit the Vinapu Ahu with its pre-Incan style of architecture. The tour ends in the Ana Kai Tangata Cave where you can see some traditional rock paintings. Free activity afternoon – you can visit the village of Hanga Roa or take one of the optional tours (*): horse ride up to the Terevaka Volcano from where you can enjoy views of the whole island. Return to hotel. (B)
Day 10 EASTER ISLAND - SANTIAGO Transfer to Mataveri Airport. Flight to Santiago. Pick up at the airport and transfer to Hotel Rugendas or similar.( B)
Day 11 SANTIAGO - YOUR HOME COUNTRY Breakfast at the Hotel and transportation provided to the Santiago Airport for your flight home. (Flight not included in travel package price) (B)
